God so loved the world that he gave his only Son,
that whoever believes in him may not die but have eternal life.  (John 3:16)

These words from the Gospel of John provide the real meaning and purpose of Christmas. God’s love is so great that it had to be shared in the person of Jesus. Love was and is the motivating factor. 

We are created out of love and just as God shared Love, we are to share our love with all people. This is the true message of Christmas.
